1. Who we are

Makenai is a Japanese SRS (spaced repetition) app. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at support@usemakenai.com.

2. What we collect

We collect the minimum needed to operate the service:

• Account data — email address and display name when you register.
• SRS progress — review logs, stage data, and settings. This lives on your device and is synced to our servers only when you are signed in.
• Crash reports — anonymised crash and error data via Sentry, to help us fix bugs.
• Support messages — any message you submit through the in-app Help form.

We do not collect payment card details. Purchases are handled by Apple or Google and subject to their privacy policies.

3. How we use it

• Send email verification codes and password reset links.
• Sync your SRS data across devices when you are signed in.
• Monitor and fix crashes and errors.
• Respond to support requests.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Account and sync data are retained until you delete your account. You can permanently delete your account — and all associated server-side data — directly from the app:

Deletion is immediate and irreversible. Local data (SRS progress stored on your device) is not affected.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, email support@usemakenai.com or use the in-app deletion flow above.

7. Children

Makenai is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us their data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of the page reflects when the current version was last revised. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
